Passport Renewal - Minor

The maximum validity period for a kid passport is 5 years. Even when the child turns 16, it is still in effect until its expiration date.

The documents required for minor passport renewal:

  1. Annexure E

  2. Annexure C

    • Fill out this form if the minor has a single parent.

  3. Annexure D

    • Make sure both the parents are signed and the sign should match their own Indian passport.

  4. Indian passport first and last page

  5. Status in Canada (Visitor record/Study permit/Permanent Resident Card

    • In-case of PR, landing paper or e-copr is mandatory.

    • If the status is expired, attach the extension letter

  6. Parents marriage certificate

  7. Parents Indian Passport

  8. Parents Canadian status

    • If the parents status is expired, please attach the extension letter.

  9. Parents address Proof

    • Any parent driving license/photo id/utility bill/lease document/notice of assessment.

Things to keep in mind:

  1. If the kid is older then 5years, then kid atleast need to write his name on the application form (first page). And on the third page, any of the parent can sign it.

Which minor application is not eligible for tatkaal category:

  1. Short time validity passport. Usually the child passport is valid for 5 years, if any passport which has the validity for 2 years, then he/she is not eligible for tatkaal.

  2. 15-17 years old kid is not eligible under tatkaal category.

  3. Status expired and applied status is not eligible.

  4. Single parent (with custody)

Fees:

  1. Incase of Postal, the fees should be paid in form of money order or demand draft.

    • It should be favour of BLS International Services Canada

      • 72.70 (Normal Category)

      • 274.70 (Tatkaal Category)
